“A Hypnotic, Rhythmic, and Sensual Concert”

For 2025, the company vidARciTa commissioned composer Vincent Bossy to create a brand-new work for cello and piano, with a duration of approximately 12 minutes.

This premiere will be part of concerts celebrating the cello-piano duo with a rich and varied program. Alongside this new composition, the program will feature works by major figures of modern and contemporary music from diverse backgrounds: Arvo Pärt, Philip Glass, Nadia Boulanger, Astor Piazzolla, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Lera Auerbach, Manuel de Falla, and even Radiohead.

These pieces will be performed by the duo Echo del Tempo, consisting of cellist Joëlle Mauris and pianist Vincent Bossy, offering audiences a musical journey full of contrasts: harmony and sensuality, hypnotic rhythms, and spiritual atmospheres.

Presentation of “ScaleS” for Cello and Piano by Vincent Bossy

ScaleS is a work currently in progress for piano and cello, in five movements, composed by Vincent Bossy. Exploring both the percussive and lyrical qualities of the two instruments, it draws inspiration from rhythmic and melodic patterns in electronic and repetitive music, as well as harmonies characteristic of jazz and post-Romanticism. Bridging eras and genres, it offers an experimental and contrasting journey into the rich sonic textures of the cello and piano, balancing tension and contemplation.
